A flexible Poker Squares variant
Switch-a-roo is also called Poker Shuffle or Open Poker Squares. This version uses the open-deal option: the 25 cards you will place are shown face up before your first move.
You can fill the grid in any order. Before the final square is filled, choose a card already in the grid and move it to an empty square or another occupied square to exchange their positions. The grid locks when all 25 cards are set.
Undo remains available after completion so you can revisit the last placement and try a different arrangement.
Scoring and strategy
Rows and columns score by the same American or English poker-hand tables as Poker Squares. The higher winning targets reflect the extra control this variant gives you.
Look across the full tray before placing cards. Group suits for flushes or ranks for pairs, then check the crossing hands to make sure the same cards help both directions.
