What is Kuiper Solitaire?
Kuiper Solitaire is a Klondike variant with a wider tableau and more forgiving stock rules. Eight tableau columns replace Klondike’s seven, the stock draws one card at a time, and the waste pile can be recycled an unlimited number of times. The combination of an extra column and unlimited recycling makes Kuiper substantially more winnable than standard Klondike — a good game for players who want the familiar Klondike format with reduced frustration from unwinnable deals.
Full rules
One 52-card deck. Eight tableau columns are dealt in Klondike-style triangle (1 through 8 cards, top card face-up). Foundations build upward by suit from Ace to King. Tableau sequences build downward in alternating colors; properly ordered sequences move as units. Only Kings fill empty columns. Stock deals one card at a time; the waste recycles unlimited times. Win by moving all 52 cards to the four foundations.
How Kuiper differs from Klondike
Kuiper’s two key differences from standard Klondike are the extra column and unlimited waste recycling. An extra column means one additional potential hidden card to reveal, one more possible empty column, and more destinations for sequences. Unlimited recycling removes the time pressure of Klondike — if you miss a useful waste card, you will see it again next cycle.
The strategic priorities are identical to Klondike: reveal face-down cards first, use empty columns deliberately for King-headed sequences, and track the safe-to- foundation timing for mid-rank cards.
