The deal

Eight foundation paths run both upward and downward from layered rows.

Playing the cards

Deal rows of eight from two decks. An exposed Ace or King starts a suit foundation; Aces build up and Kings build down. Cards in uncovered cells move only to foundations. One redeal gathers the remaining columns.

First plan

Take foundation moves that uncover cards above a gap, and note which suits have open upward or downward paths.

Empty cells are not filled during the first pass; their position controls which older cards become available.
