Devil's Grip strategy

Build each four-card interval run in its row.

Two decks without Aces leave 96 cards. Twenty-four begin in a three-by-eight grid; the rest form the stock. Matching-suit stacks advance by three ranks, while whole-pile swaps let you position completed runs.

A same-suit 8 can stack on a 5, and a Jack can later stack on the 8. A pile may hold at most four cards. When a grid source becomes empty through stacking, the stock refills that cell while cards remain. This both brings a new card into play and may change the next legal stack.

For example, 8 of Spades on 5 of Spades is useful even if the 5 is in the wrong row: the combined pile can later be swapped into place. Check whether the resulting pile still has room for its next rank before joining stacks.

Use swaps for the final arrangement

The top row needs 2–5–8–Jack stacks; the middle needs 3–6–9–Queen; the bottom needs 4–7–10–King. Each stack must be one suit. Swapping whole grid piles changes their positions without altering the rank order inside them. A correct four-card stack in the wrong row can therefore still be moved to its final row.

When all grid cells are occupied, drawing sends up to three cards from stock to the talon. The talon top can join a legal grid pile. A win requires all 96 cards in the correct 24 grid stacks, with stock and talon empty.
